Horse Shoe Falls, Mt Field National Park Tasmania.
Horse Shoe Falls in the Mt Field National Park, Tasmania. Hard to believe that several days earlier on my photographic safari of Tasmania I was walking up Cradle Mountain which was covered in fresh snow and this was the first day of summer 2011. My objective on this trip was to photograph Russell falls however due to poor light and a gentile breeze which blew light mist across my camera equipment this was not possible. For the first time in my photographic career I dropped a lens in to the muddy embankment and did not even realise my mistake, luckily I did manage to recover it. This is my favourite lens and though the $2700 would have been an financial inconvenience it is the lens I use all of the time so a drive to Hobart would have been required to replace it costing me time as well.
So I decided to travel up the hill to photograph Horse Shoe Falls, WOW. So much more interesting and much prettier to photograph ( in my opinion anyway).
