Alpine Snow Dunes Near Cope Hut (Falls Creek)
A few hours cross country skiing from Falls Creek is Cope Hut which back in 1992 I spent a night with mice running over my sleeping bag and eating through my back pack. This was a better day! I had Left Falls Creek Early this morning with a friend to do some cross country skiing at the back of Falls Creek. We stopped and had lunch just near Cope Hut, I looked up starred at the snow dues and though Wow this is just stunning. I actually have a 60x40inch print of this in my home and love it dearly. The strange thing with this landscape photograph is that when you look at it from different angles it looks some what three dimensional. Don’t Ask me how it just works, my thoughts are the canvas creates this perception of 3 dimensions.
Cope Hut is just off the Bogong High Plains Road (Near Falls Creek), high up in the mountains in east Victoria. I point out hat this road is closed through winer months so skiing out hear is the only option. Cope Hut is about about a five hour drive from Melbourne . At about 1700m above sea level Cope Hut is the second highest hut in Victoria.
Lloyd Howlett’s Australian landscape limited edition photographs are printed on archival quality canvas (designed to last well in to the next century and beyond) individually numbered and signed. Making each print completely individual.
