Description
An Oasis in the middle of nowhere
After waiting for two days for the cloudy weather to clear (which is useless for good Kimberley photographs) I decided to drive to El Questro wow! Throughout the arid dry country of north western Australia is every so often an oasis in the wilderness El Questro Gorge is one of those places that if you are in the Kimberley you must visit.
Spend some time and take the walks through all the available gorges at El Questro these offer so much for you to explore and see. Apart from the gorges there is thermal pools to enjoy, though get there early as these pools do get a bit crowded (I enjoy the peace of solitude which works very well for my landscape photography). If yo do not have a high clearence four wheel drive tours are available. I should mention the camping showers were just fantastic.
El Questro Wilderness Park is a privately owned Wilderness park that was previously a cattle station located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. El Questro is located 110 kilometres West of Kununurra just off the Gibb River Road. The original homestead was established in 1903 and the park still runs live stock.
Lloyd Howlett’s Australian landscape limited edition photographs are printed on archival quality canvas (designed to last well in to the next century and beyond) individually numbered and signed. Making each print completely individual.
